Psychodynamic Therapy
I work in a private practice of state-licensed psychotherapists in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg—near Friedrichshain and within close proximity of Alexanderplatz in Berlin-Mitte. I provide an empathetic, competent environment and specialise in treating a wide range of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief and more . My goal is to help reduce symptoms by enabling mental growth and development.
In my practice for psychotherapy Berlin, I welcome people from all backgrounds and ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations, ages, classes and religions.
I am looking forward to scheduling your appointment.
What is Psychodynamic Therapy?
Therapy, Counseling, Crisis Intervention
In psychodynamic therapy nearly every mental illness is explained as an underlying conflict of social relations. With that in mind, this approach recognizes the two major realms of therapeutical cure as:
-
understanding the unconscious conflicts within a person
-
simultaneously establishing a helpful experience through a corrective, patient-therapist relationship.
Focusing on everyday problems while considering the patient’s biographical history is essential. Symptoms are not considered as solely pathological and dysfunctional manifestations, but as a precarious attempt at self-healing.
The goal of psychodynamic treatment is to aid patients to a better understanding of their unconscious or semi-conscious conflicts—which often lead to symptomatic manifestations—as well as to help strengthen and develop individual resources.
